Overnight in the Brionnais

17th/18th April 2009

Gentle green landscape

Brionnais: famous for the Charolais cattle

After the presentation for the return of the album to the Anciens Élévés of the Lycée Wittmer in Charolles we headed a little further south down into the Brionnais not far from Anzy-le-Duc to have dinner and stay overnight with friends. The Brionnais is very pastoral with softly rolling hills and lots of cattle, especially the renowned and local Charolais cattle.

Unfortunately we didn't have time to explore the area properly but it is clearly very attractive and worth returning to when we have more time.
