No it is not a secret. We have regulars Chris Kissack (The Wine Doctor) and Nigel Wilkinson (RSJ Restaurant). Neil Irvine (No2 Pound Street) joined us this year for the three days – Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Because of the record entry this year there was an additional jury on Tuesday with Stephen Skelton MW, Laura Rhys (Hotel TerraVina) and Rebecca Palmer (Corney & Barrow).

too bad the current decanter dumps on the whites from the centre for 2009.

Anon. My vintage report in the May issue of Decanter reflects that 2009 was a difficult vintage for parts of the Central Vineyards because of the problems arising from the successive hailstorms.

Am I supposed to ignore this?

I should mention that Sarah Ahmed, a vital member of the Loire panel in previous years, has been promoted to be regional chair for Portugal.
