Hope to see both of you there. Here a recent comment from Sebastian Beaumont (Beaumont wines) “There is a bit of a Chenin Revolution in the air. The CBA members are hard at work to educate consumers on the fantastic characters of Chenin, to embrace its versatility and to savour a grape that is truly South African, by virtue of its plantings, the length of time that it has been in SA and the great wines that it does produce that offer great value at all price points”.Ina Smithhttp://www.chenin.co.zanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-456611623448834500.post-83147354946207845222013-06-09T09:27:34.010+01:002013-06-09T09:27:34.010+01:00Thanks Hervé. I visited Klein Zalze while on a CWW trip, 2 years ago. I enjoyed the wines, their diversity - and those of the Chenin Association. It goes to show that varietals can cross borders and find new homes, whatever the protectionists say.
I just hope I can live long enough to be able to buy some South African Chenin in France one day...
I know the South African growers try the Loire chenin as benchmarking but I am not sure the reverse is true. That's a pity for the world of wine.Hervé Lalauhttp://hlalau.skynetblogs.benoreply@blogger.com
