Epeigné-les-Bois: birds are cold and the ground is frozen

And then, to show their gratitude, they poo on your doorstep and windows ...
Mind you : mee too, I love to watch tits in my close vicinity, moving about, standing upright, as if erect. Oh, their jolly colours, their lovely little shrieks and squelches, the grace of it all!
What a romantic you are, Luc!
Do you feed them anything other than breadcrumbs? I ask because although easy and traditional, breadcrumbs are by no means ideal, as they should be soaked before putting out for birds so they can digest them easily. In this weather they just freeze. Better to put out cheese, lard, seeds, sultanas, apples.
Thanks Susan. Yes we only occasionally put out bread crumbs and we do usually soak them. Instead we mainly put out seeds on the bird table.
