Paul Buisse sells to Pierre Chainier

Cellars of Paul Buisse on eastern edge of Montrichard

I have just heard that Paul Buisse sold his Montrichard négociant business in August to Pierre Chainier, a fellow négociant based in Amboise. I was aware that Paul wanted to sell as his daughter and son-in-law weren't interested in coming into the business that was founded in 1907.

Paul and Claudine Buisse

Paul Buisse SA is a high quality, small négociant business specialising in Loire wines, including some from vineyards in the Cher Valley owned by Paul. Sales are around one million bottles a year for a turnover of 2.7€ million. He will be staying on for a year looking after quality control and welcoming visitors. "I have no regrets," says Paul in an article in blois.maville.

Thanks Bart. I'm hoping that Paul and Claudine will soon be enjoying their retirement, although I understand Paul will be doing some consultancy work.
